Welcome to the Calderdale BME (Black and Minority Ethnic) Network
The Calderdale BME Network is a network of organisations working in the Calderdale area for the benefit of BME Communities.
The purpose of the BME Network is to develop the Member Organisations by
- Raising the profile of BME Groups/Organisations
- Organising Networking and Consultation events
- Providing information on funding and supporting Members with funding applications
- Identifying training needs and providing specific training to groups
- Helping and supporting Members with Organisational Development and Capacity Building (such as Governance issues)
- Sharing information about consultations and developments with other statutory partners
- Providing information and access to strategic decision makers whose decisions effect the lives of BME Communities
- Seeking to reach and recruit all BME Community groups to District networks
- Assisting groups to network with similar groups locally and regionally
- Providing a centralised hub for information and access to BME issues
In order to ensure we have the maximum impact possible, within the resources available to us, the Calderdale BME Network engages with other Key Networks and Forums, such as the Equality Forum.
